SPRING BIRDWALK Lead By Marilyn O'Connell

WBU SPRING BIRDWALK

Join us for our Spring Birdwalk, Saturday, May 4th through the Penn Dixie Site looking for birds
migrating through the area or establishing nesting territories. The list is over 140
birds so far!
A pond was built years ago and plants are growing around it's perimeter. It's fun
to see what species have been attracted to it. Killdeer already have their babies by the
time we take our walk. Field Sparrows are singing from blades of grass. Bluebirds have
been seen checking out the nesting boxes made especially for them! We might just see a
coyote as an extra attraction!
If lucky with the weather, hawks, eagles, falcons, harriers, and osprey might be seen
migrating overhead along with scores of Turkey Vultures!

Join us Saturday, May 4th at 9am at the Penn Dixie Site off Big Tree Road owned by Hamburg
Natural History Society. Sunday, May 5th rain date if needed.
Free to the public. Children welcome. Bring binoculars and wear boots for wet ground!!!
Dress for the weather!!!
